The amended law concerning stabilization of employment of older persons, which took effect in April 2006, is steadily expanding employment opportunities for older workers. Meanwhile, social awareness is growing on issues such as work-life balance and age-free work opportunity. Looking ahead, as aging accelerates, the growing participation of older persons at companies and other workplaces will be instrumental in building a dynamic society.
