Investment technology and risk management

Due to financial liberalization, globalization, and advances in information technology, financial innovations are occurring on a global scale. In Japan, the Financial Big Bang has wrought startling changes in the form of more diverse and complex investor needs, financial and securities markets, and financial instruments.

To achieve consistently high investment returns in today's financial and securities markets, investors need highly sophisticated data analysis and investment management skills. The conventional qualitative approach, which analyzes the investment environment based on global information, needs to be supplemented with a quantitative approach-one that analyzes massive data from financial markets and instruments based on theories in finance, economics, statistics and mathematics. The quantitative approach is also necessary for advanced portfolio risk management.

From this financial engineering perspective, we apply finance theory and computer technology to analyze and evaluate financial markets and instruments, and provide high quality data on a timely basis. We see our role as bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
